Planned Taconic Roadwork This Week Will Include Lane Closures

Lane reductions will be in place on Tuesday and Wednesday, if the weather cooperates, according to the NYSDOT.

YORKTOWN, NY — Driving a stretch of the Taconic in Northern Westchester will be a little more challenging than usual on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the NYSDOT.

The New York State Department of Transportation said the Taconic State Parkway will be reduced to one lane in the Town of Yorktown, for road work, weather permitting.

Work on the northbound lanes will take between Exit 11 (State Route 134) and Exit 13 (Underhill Avenue) on Tuesday, April 7, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Crews will be working on the northbound side between Exit 17A (State Route 35) and Exit 20 (U.S. Route 6) on Tuesday, April 7, between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. The work will move to the southbound side of the road between Exit 17A (State Route 35) and Exit 13 (Underhill Avenue) on Wednesday, April 8, between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a driver's license suspension.
