Police Searching For Clues In Waccabuc Post Office Armed Robbery

WACCABUC, NY — Some tense moments left local area postal workers shaken yesterday afternoon.

The Lewisboro Police Department said that at around 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the Waccabuc Post Office, located at 2 Post Office Road, on reports of an armed robbery.

There were no injuries as a result of the robbery, according to police.

Officers remained at the location for several hours.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation, according to the Lewisboro Police Department.

The Postal Inspection Service police force has global jurisdiction when it comes to the security of postal workers, high-value U.S. Post Offices, facilities and postal vehicles, according to the agency's mandate.
