Pound Ridge Grandfather Killed In St. Louis During Attempted Carjacking
The man was visiting his daughter and his newly born grandchild.

POUND RIDGE, NY — A Pound Ridge grandfather, visiting his daughter and new grandchild, was killed in St. Louis, MO, during a carjacking attempt Friday.
Kenneth Spalter, 72, and his 71-year-old wife were getting out of their car when they were approached by two black men who demanded the keys to the car, the Journal News said.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said Spalter struggled with the would-be carjackers and one of them shot him once.

Neighbors came to Spalter’s aid, but he died before being taken away by paramedics.
