Pound Ridge resident, Ring, and Bedford resident, Schwartz, join Westchester Land Trust's Board

Ring, Schwartz and three others join the environmental organization's Board of Directors for 2015.

Lori Ensinger, President of the Westchester Land Trust (WLT) recently announced five additions to the Board of Directors of the Bedford Hills, NY-based land conservation organization. “We are honored to welcome such an impressive slate of talented and dedicated individuals who will add their leadership and experience to our Board of Directors,” said Ms. Ensinger.

The new Board members include: Renee Ring (pictured above left), Jennifer Schwartz (pictured above right), Eli B. A. Halliwell, Betsy Lifschultz, and Susan Todd.

Ring, an attorney, lives in Pound Ridge with her husband Paul Zofnass. Together, they helped WLT create the Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve – a 150-acre ambassador preserve in Pound Ridge. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors at the Historic House Trust of New York City and the University of Virginia Law School Foundation, as well as a past Board member at several other organizations including the Pound Ridge Land Conservancy.

Schwartz, a Bedford Resident, is a former school administrator, teacher and college guidance counselor having worked at The York Prep School in New York City as well as The Harvey School in Katonah. She is also a part president of the Bedford Free Library Board of Directors.

Halliwell, a native of Irvington, is currently the Vice President, Senior Analyst at D.E. Shaw & Co., a global investment and technology development firm. His past work experience includes President & CEO, Board of Directors, of global beauty brand Jurlique International, as well as General Manager/COO at Bumble and Bumble, LLC, a professional hair care company that is a division of the Estée Lauder Companies.

Mount Kisco resident, Lifschultz, is a retired teacher with experience in several school districts including Eastchester, Yorktown, Bedford, and most recently, Chappaqua. She is the former president of both the Chappaqua Library Board and the Chappaqua PTA, as well as a former Board member at the New Castle Historical Society.

Croton-on-Hudson resident Todd is an Academy Award nominated producer, writer, director and partner in Archipelago Films, a New York-based media company. She has worked as a producer at WNET - Channel 13, and as a Director of the Fellowship for International Understanding through Film at Jacob Burns Films Center, where she taught classes in filmmaking.

The Westchester Land Trust works with public and private partners to preserve land in perpetuity, and to enhance the natural resources in Westchester and eastern Putnam counties. WLT’s conservation efforts impact the long term health of these communities through the protection of watershed areas, air quality, and food supply. In total, WLT has preserved almost 8,000 acres of open space including approximately 660 acres of preserves owned by the organization.
