Principals Appointed In Bedford School District

One is a new hire and the another is an interim principal being permanently appointed.

BEDFORD, NY — The Bedford Central School District has appointed a new high school principal and given an interim middle school principal a permanent position. Superintendent Dr. Christopher M. Manno announced that Dr. Brett Miller will become the new Fox Lane High School principal effective July 1, 2017.

Miller has been serving as principal of Saratoga Springs High School in Saratoga Springs since August 2010, during which time the graduation rates increased 9 percent.

He holds a doctorate in education from The Sage College in Albany.

The district also announced that Fox Lane Middle School’s Interim Principal Sue Ostrofsky will become the permanent principal effective July 1.

She came to the Bedford district in 1994 after teaching for nine years in Dobbs Ferry and was appointed principal of Mount Kisco Elementary School in 2004.

Ostrofsky holds a certificate of advanced study in educational leadership from Columbia University Teachers College and a master’s degree from Long Island University.
