Prison Seamstress Who Helped Murderers Escape Denied Parole Again
Joyce Mitchell is serving time in Bedford Hills Correctional Facility.

BEDFORD, NY — A prison seamstress who pleaded guilty in 2015 to helping two convicted murderers escape from the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora has once again been denied parole. Joyce Mitchell, 52, was sentenced to a maximum of seven years in September 2015
Mitchell had been denied parole the first time in February, the Daily Voice said. She's being serving time at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility.
According to authorities, Mitchell helped inmates Richard Matt and David Sweat escape from Clinton Correctional Facility.

She had given them hacksaw blades, drill bits and headlamps and was supposed to drive the getaway car but instead checked herself into the hospital with chest pains.
Matt was killed and Sweat was captured.
