Queens Man Steals Car, Gets Arrested: Police
An car abandoned on I-684 led to an arrest.

BEDFORD, NY — State Police arrested a Queens man July 28 for allegedly stealing a car. Jose O. Amaya Serrano, 21, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a stolen property, a felony.
Troopers were dispatched aound 2:43 p.m. July 28 to a disabled vehicle in the area of mile 17.4 northbound on I-684. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
The Ford F250, which was located on the side of the roadway, was found to be stolen from Flushing, Queens.

While canvassing the area to locate the driver, Serrano was walking on the southbound side of I-684. He was placed in custody.
An investigation indicated that Serrano had stolen the vehicle in Queens and was traveling to Connecticut.

He was arraigned in the Town of Bedford Justice Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail without bail.
