Rain, Wintry Mix: Hudson Valley's Work Week Weather

More rain is on the way. After a mild Sunday, a storm that brought snow and blizzard conditions to the central U.S. is heading for the Hudson Valley, and the result is forecast to be a nor'easter Monday into Tuesday.

"People from the central Appalachians to the mid-Atlantic coast that head back to work or school on Monday morning can expect wet conditions," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said.

While most of the Hudson Valley will see a rain event, parts of the mid-Hudson Valley could see a wintry mix changing to all snow in the overnight hours.

Rain will be a factor for Monday's evening commute, and it's possible that the more northern parts of the Hudson Valley will see precipitation for Tuesday's morning commute.

And then there's the possibility of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday for the mid-Hudson Valley.

There are also hazardous weather outlooks and flood watches throughout the region.

Here is the work week weather forecast for northern Westchester from the National Weather Service:

• Monday: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Steady temperature around 45. East wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
• Monday Night: Rain, mainly before 2am, then scattered showers after 2am. Low around 38. East wind 8 to 15 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 41. West wind 13 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.
• Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. West wind 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
• Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. West wind 8 to 14 mph.
• Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34.
• Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43.
• Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.
• Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42.
• Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31.
