Rare Bobcat Sighting At Popular Park In Westchester County
Officials say the camera-shy wild feline was spotted near the pool side of the pond in Town Park by observant Parks and Recreation staff.
LEWISBORO, NY — Park officials say that the sighting of a bobcat at Lewisboro Town Park is a cause for celebration rather than concern.
The Lewisboro Parks and Recreation Department took to social media to post a photograph taken on Tuesday of the elusive Westchester native. The bobcat pictured was spotted by Parks Department staff on the pool side of the pond at the often bustling Town Park.
"Only in rare cases, is there a danger to humans," park officials wrote. "Chances are you will never see him in part because of their reclusive nature (note his shy nature of turning away from the camera)."
