April Herbert, long-time Pound Ridge resident, founding member of the group and current co-President, is a sculptor and photographer who most recently has concentrated on using digital photography to express herself. Stan Eisenman says, “As an artist I use abstract shapes, lines, colors, weight, etc. to create a work of art. If I am successful the result is a work of art that is as pleasing to the eye as music is to the ear.” Kris Landau is a painter and art teacher in a local school. There are several photographers in the group: Gail Jankus, Pound Ridge Conservation Board chair, is also a professional botanical photographer; Donna Simons, a professional graphic designer with her own business, deals with the complex health, environmental and ethical issues surrounding commercial farming in her artwork; Karen Neems shows her beautiful abstract, layered photographs extensively. Other photographers include Linda Kuehne, Curtis Lew and Norman Jensen. Michele Gage, co-president of the group, is an accomplished watercolorist who is deeply influenced by the landscape of Pound Ridge as well as other landscapes all over the world. Marty Kremer and Susan Cox are well-regarded glass artists. Lisl Steiner, world-renowned installation artist and photographer, always uses the same space in the library to create her own unique installation to express her various visions. This year she is making a tribute to quintessential long -time Pound Ridge resident, Carl Breuninger, who died in 2012. Julia Goldberg, Susan Grissom, Diane Hunt and Ethel Renek are among the painters in the group. Sculptors in the group include Jim Felice and Doc Dochterman. Jane Ingram is a highly accomplished print maker with an extensive history of showing her work in this area.

The Guild is a place for local artists to interact socially while encouraging each other in a supportive setting. We are happy to welcome new members.
