Search and Rescue Operations Wind Down
Lynn University is unsure as to whether search and rescue operations have ended at the Hotel Montana site.
With over a 100,000 people dead and more than 600,000 left homeless in Haiti by the Jan. 12 earthquake, the Haitian government officially called off the search and rescue mission on Friday afternoon, according to media reports.
In an update, Lynn University officials said they have received "conflicting reports" about whether or not such operations have ended at the site of Hotel Montana, where a team of 12 Lynn students and two faculty members were staying when the magnitude-7.0 quake struck.
While some of their sources indicate a rescue mission will continue today, some suggest otherwise.
