Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued Monday for Hudson Valley

A thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Hudson Valley Monday.

The National Weather Service said the watch went into effect at 12:45 p.m. and will be in effect until 8 p.m.

The watch is in effect for Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties.

Hazardous weather is a possible due to the high humidity and temperatures across the region. The main threat is damaging wind gusts.

A watch means the conditions exist for severe thunderstorms, according to the NWS.
