Severe Thunderstorms Possible For Hudson Valley Tuesday

The National Weather Service issued variations on Hazardous Weather Outlooks for the region.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With heat and humidity building Tuesday across the mid- and lower Hudson Valley, there is a chance for severe thunderstorms. The National Weather Service has issued Hazardous Weather Outlooks for all parts of the region, with slight variations on what the risks entail.

For Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, the NWS said there is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms. Again, the primary risk is damaging winds.

In Dutchess, Columbia and Ulster counties, there is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms. But along with the possibility of damaging winds, there could be large hail and an isolated tornado.

The weather service said that heavy downpours could also mean minor flooding.
