Romeo and Juliet outdoors in the sanctuary! Grounds open 90 minutes prior to showtime for picnicking. Refreshments for sale. Show is 2 hrs

Set in New Orleans in 1934, this newly adapted production of Shakespeare’s sweetest tragedy begins just before Mardi Gras and ends just after Ash Wednesday. The Montagues are a New Orleans crime family who made their money as bootleggers, while the Capulets are part of the New Orleans political and legal establishment. Look forward to period costuming, set design, and a rich collection of Jazz and Blues music.

Director is L.A.- based Emma Zakes- Green, producers are Lawnchair theatre founders Peter Green and Carin Zakes. Supported by Port Chester’s Council of the Arts and Lawnchair theatre, this production is generously underwritten by an anonymous donor.
