Snow to Impact Hudson Valley Thursday
Parts of the region are under a Winter Weather Advisory.

Wintry weather is in the forecast for much of the Hudson Valley for Thursday. The big question is, how much of it will be snow?
Forecasts created Tuesday called for the storm developing earlier and staying mainly as a snow event.
In fact, the National Weather Service has already issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties in effect from 9 a.m. Thursday to noon Friday.

The advisory said that there could be snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches, with the snow developing Thursday morning and continuing into Thursday night.
Additionally, winds are forecast to be out of the west at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. Temperatures will be in the upper 20s to mid-30s.

For the region, meteorologists are thinking the snow may not be as widespread, with snow turning into rain. But then again, forecasts could change.
Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said a storm such as this one is “a nightmare to forecast, because a minor change in just one or two details could mean quite a bit more or less snow.”
In general, Potter is calling for less than 2 inches of snow from I-84 south, 1-4 inches in the valley areas and 3-6 inches possible in the Catskills.
