Stolen Car Chase Ends With Arrest Of Queens Man: NYSP
Police said the chase lasted for 12 miles.
BEDFORD, NY — An early morning police chase ended with the arrest of a Queens man who was accused of stealing a car. State police said, around 1:50 a.m. Thursday, a traffic stop was initiated a traffic stop of a northbound taxi on I-684 in the Town of Bedford.
The driver of the 2019 Toyota Camry didn't stop and led state police on a 12-mile chase.
During the pursuit, Village of Mamaroneck police issued an alert about a stolen vehicle matching the description of the Camry.

The car was eventually stopped at the end of I-684 where it intersects with Route 22.
Police said the driver and sole occupant was Begnauth Renseroop, 23, of Queens.

He was taken into custody without further incident, police said.
Renseroop was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and reckless driving, misdemeanors, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
He was arraigned in the Town of Somers Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $3,000 bond.
Renseroop is next scheduled to appear in the Town of Bedford Court Sept. 11.
