His backpack was found in the woman's basement, providing evidence that he entered the house, Westport police said.
NORTH SALEM, NY — An odd series of events at a Connecticut home has a North Salem man facing trespassing charges.
The Westport Police Department said that on October 22, officers responded to an address after a report of a suspicious person on the property. The caller said she saw a person walking around in her yard and that this individual may have entered her home's basement.
After officers checked the basement, they did not find anyone there. However, they found John Kosakowski hiding outside the house. Investigators later found that a backpack belonging to the man was discovered in the basement which police said proved he had entered the home.
