Take a Walk at Weir
As summer winds down and trees start to turn, why not venture just across the CT border to stroll the state's only national park?
Sometimes it's easy to take for granted what's right in your backyard. Perhaps that's the case with Weir Farm, and it certainly shouldn't be.
Weir is Connecticut's lone national park and the country's only national park dedicated to American painting. Those are pretty good claims to fame for a fairly small property.
Located on Nod Hill Road along the Wilton/Ridgefield border, Weir's visitor center is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May through October, and Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the winter months.
