Town Justice Suspended After Tax Evasion Plea

Prosecutors recommended prison time for the Lewisboro justice.

LEWISBORO, NY — Town Justice Marc Seedorf was suspended without pay after pleading guilty to a federal tax evasion charge. The New York State Court of Appeals made the ruling Friday.

Seedorf is scheduled to be sentenced March 24, the Journal News reported.

Prosecutors recommended 18 months in prison and a $207,000-restitution payment.

Seedorf didn't file federal income tax returns for 2005 through 2015. From 2005 to 2008, he incurred a federal income tax liability of about $323,000. From 2009 to 2013, his tax liability was about $164,000.
