LEWISBORO, NY — The Town of Lewisboro's Snow Angel program is intended to both bring the already tight-knit community together and make wintering in the Northeast a little easier for snowbirds who are forgoing the southern migration as the omicron variant creates a worrisome COVID-19 surge.

The town of Lewisboro is looking for residents who would like to volunteer their time to help neighbors deal with the downside of Jack Frost's wintertime magic. "Snow angels" are needed to shovel snow at a neighbor’s house after a storm to make their home more accessible.

"Neighbors helping neighbors shovel and salt their property during the winter," organizers said in a recently released call for volunteers. "The Snow Angels program is about coming together as a community fostering stronger relationships and relieving some of the stress that comes from a snowfall or freeze as many of our neighbors age in place."
