Weather Update: Finally... Turning the Corner

Other than a slight chance of snow showers on Saturday night, there isn’t any snow or ice forecast for the next week to 10 days in Westchester County.

Let that sit for a moment, as it’s been a very long time since we’ve had any good news concerning the weather forecast.

Since mid January, through now, it’s been snowstorm after snowstorm, especially on the weekends and Mondays, and when it wasn’t snowing or icing, we had to deal with sub-zero temperatures and windchills.

And yes, there were frigid temperatures Friday morning, but once we get past a chilly day today (highs in the low-20s) and a very cold evening (temps in the single digits in some Hudson Valley areas), the news is much better.

If you check the 10-day weather forecast, what you see is no snow chances, except for the slight possibility of snow showers Saturday night, which takes us through March 15. And spring is fast-approaching.

We are nowhere near a heat wave yet, but it will feel like one next week as temperatures could approach 50 degrees a couple of times next week.

In fact, highs for virtually the entire week will be in the 40s throughout the region.

So get ready for the Big Thaw.

Before we get there, this weekend will still be chilly, but it’ll mostly be dry. It will be sunny on Saturday with temperatures in the low-30s, and on Sunday there could be a repeat but a little warmer, with temperatures in the low-40s.
