Westchester County's Unemployment Rate at 5.2 Percent

New York state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged at 5.8 percent in February 2015, its lowest level since September 2008, according to the New York Department of Labor.

Additionally, the state’s private sector job count increased by 148,400 from February 2014 to February 2015.

“In February 2015, the number of private sector jobs in the state was 7,751,400, an all-time high,” labor officials said in a prepared statement. “The state’s private sector job count is based on a payroll survey of 18,000 New York employers conducted by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.”
