13K+ NYSEG Customers Still Waiting For Power Monday: UPDATE

NYSEG has been able to restore about half of the customers so far.

Progress is being made in restoring electricity to NYSEG customers in the Hudson Valley. A nor’easter with heavy rains and high winds exited the region midday Monday. As of around 4:30 p.m. Monday, the number of customers in Putnam County without power has dropped to 5,590 from 13,215 Monday morning.

Many locations in the hamlet of Carmel are estimated to have power restored by 5:30 p.m. Monday. However, some streets will not see the lights come back on until 11:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The Town of Patterson has about 1,600 customers without electricity. The hamlet of Patterson has 1,111 customers waiting for restoration, with Brewster at 479. A majority of the locations in both will see the power come back on by 11:45 p.m. Monday, according to NYSEG’s estimates.

The Westchester towns of Somers and Lewisboro still have the bulk of outages, with Bedford, Pound Ridge and North Salem coming up short also.

The 994 customers in Somers without electricity should see restoration by 11:45 p.m. Monday, if not before then, according to NYSEG’s outage map. Only Heritage Hills is estimated for restoration Tuesday at 11:45 p.m.

Dutchess and Ulster counties both have more than 1,100 customers without power.

Pine Bush in Ulster is estimated to be restored by 11:30 p.m. Monday. Big Indian should be coming back on line by 5 p.m. Monday.

Many locations in Amenia were estimated to be restored by 3:45 p.m. Monday but are still listed on the NYSEG outage map. Other Amenia locations have an 11:45 p.m. Tuesday estimated time.

For Poughquag, the estimated restoration time is 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The 232 customers in Dover Plains shouldn’t expect power to come back on until 11:45 p.m. Oct. 31. That is the same estimate for the 187 Pawling customers.

Thousands of NYSEG customers are without electricity as a nor’easter slowly moves out of the Hudson Valley Monday morning. Putnam and Westchester were particularly hard hit with 13,215 and 9,151 outages, respectively. The Town of Carmel in Putnam County has 4,596 outages, with the vast majority being in the hamlet of Carmel. A few locations have an estimated restoration of noon Monday, but most are still be assessed as of 9 a.m.

Mahopac has 1,435 customers waiting for power restoration.

In Westchester County, the towns of Somers and Lewisboro are seing the majority of the outages.

Lewisboro customers without electricity number 2,454, while Somers has 3,282. All locations are being assessed for restoration estimates.

The Town of Pound Ridge has more than 1,000 without power.

Both Bedford and Yorktown have more than 900 customers waiting for power to be restored.

There are 2,014 NYSEG customers in Dutchess County without electricity. Pawling has 834, with Dover at 558. Amenia has 310, and Beekman has 213. The vast majority of locations are still being assessed as to restoration times.

The Town of Shawangunk in Ulster County has 1,175 customers without power. No estimated restoration times have been posted.
