Wind Warnings In Effect In Hudson Valley, Power Outages Possible
Parts of the Hudson Valley could see wind gusts up to 60 mph Wednesday.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Winds are likely to be a problem around the Hudson Valley Wednesday. Wind advisories for the mid-Hudson Valley, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester have been elevated to high wind warnings by the National Weather Service.
For western Columbia, western Dutchess and eastern Ulster counties, the warning is in effect from 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4 until 5 a.m. Thursday, April 5.
There will be westerly winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

The strongest winds will be Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night.
Eastern Columbia, eastern Dutchess and western Ulster are also under a high wind warning until 5 am. Thursday, April 5, with west winds 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 60 mph.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties, the warning is in effect from noon to midnight Wednesday, April 4.
The forecast calls for west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph, and will occur behind a cold front passing through the region Wednesday afternoon.
Southern Westchester County remains under a wind advisory until midnight Wednesday.
Winds will be from the west 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph.
For all areas, the strong winds will be capable of blowing down limbs, trees and power lines.
There could be isolated power outages, the NWS said.
