Ambulance Catches Fire On Southern State Parkway
The Tuesday night fire happened near the Newbridge Road exit.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY — An ambulance caught fire Tuesday night on the Southern State Parkway. State police said the fire was extinguished by the North Bellmore Fire Department and there were no injuries.
It happened at around 10 p.m. near Newbridge Road (exit 25).
Photos of the scene showed thick, white smoke pouring from the ambulance.

It was not clear if the ambulance had a patient onboard at the time of the blaze.
The parkway was closed briefly while first responders handled the situation.
