• Senator Steve Rhoads And We Care Blankets Collect Record-Breaking Yarn and Blankets for Children Battling Cancer (longislandmediagroup.com) — Bellmore and North Bellmore residents played a big role in Senator Steve Rhoads’ second annual Yarn & Blanket Drive, donating at their local libraries to help children undergoing cancer treatment. The district-wide effort collected 458,000 yards of yarn and more than 168 handmade blankets, showing how strongly local volunteers, libraries, and We Care Blankets support families facing pediatric cancer.
