BELLMORE, NY — Bluebird Kitchen will be serving its last brunch classic and a spritz to customers this Sunday.
The local eatery announced on Instagram that after five years, it will be closing its doors at the end of the month:
"We've watched team members grow in their careers and their lives. We've met amazing guests who became friends, worked alongside incredible people, and created memories we'll carry forever.
From day one, this restaurant was built with passion, hard work, and a genuine love for hospitality. We are proud of everything we accomplished together and grateful to everyone who walked through our doors."
The post continued to read that the restaurant business has become increasingly challenging for the local spot.
"Despite our best efforts to keep Bluebird going, the financial challenges of operating a restaurant have become too great to overcome.
While this chapter is coming to an end, we leave with gratitude, pride, and countless memories."
Known for brunch classics, like frittatas, avocado toast, "Bluebird Bennies," and cocktails with unique names, such as "Everybody Wants to be Us," "No, No. That Wasn't a Question," and 'Gird Your Loins," Bellmore residents will now have to find a new weekend spot.
The brunch spot shared its appreciation to customers and said they will be offering an extended brunch until 5 p.m. on June 28 for "one last meal together."
