• Hicksville-based anti-illiteracy nonprofit, Book Fairies, expands (longislandpress.com) — A Bellmore mom's nonprofit, Book Fairies, has just given away its 6-millionth book and moved into a much larger Hicksville warehouse, boosting its ability to fight illiteracy. The group, founded by Amy Zaslansky, now has expanded space and a strengthened board to get more free books into schools, shelters, and community groups locally and worldwide.
