BELLMORE, NY — Four people were displaced after a house fire in Bellmore Thursday night, fire marshals said.
The Bellmore Fire Department responded to a two-story home on Shore Road after receiving a house fire call at 9:08 p.m. on Aug. 20, the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said. The smoke detectors inside the home activated, fire marshals said.
One resident was evaluated for smoke inhalation at the scene, according to fire marshals.
According to fire marshals, the fire, located in the basement, was brought under control within 30 minutes by about 60 firefighters.
Mutual aid was provided by North Bellmore, Merrick, North Merrick, Wantagh, and Seaford – all under the command of Chief Donovan, fire marshals said.
The NCFM's Office and the NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad are investigating the fire, according to fire marshals.
