• Bellmore community marks 25th anniversary of Sept. 11 attacks (liherald.com) — Bellmore firefighters and neighbors recently gathered outside the Pettit Avenue firehouse and at St. Barnabas Church to honor four local volunteers lost due to the Sept. 11 attacks and related illnesses. Marking the 25th anniversary, the ceremony featured wreath-laying, bell tolls, and moments of silence that connected today's volunteers with those whose service still shapes Bellmore's identity and sense of unity.
