Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray announced that several area pools will extend their hours due to increasing heat, including Newbridge Road Park Pool in Bellmore.
Through Wednesday, 15 cooling centers will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., while hours at eight pools and seven town beaches are extended.
Rates are $7 per person, children ages 5 to 9 are $3.50. Seasonal passes are also available. For more information visit the town's website.
