Bellmore Little Leaguers Lose to Merrick, Win Against Seaford
Bellmore's Saturday win puts them 2-1 in the tourney.
After Bellmore defeated one of the top seeds, Massapequa International 7-5 on Wednesday, the 12U Williamsport team had their work cut out for them against last year's district champions, Merrick. After a shaky first inning for Bellmore the feisty team settled down and played outstanding defense against a well-schooled Merrick program.
Bellmore's pitching shut the Merrick bats down but unfortunately Bellmore suffered a 4-2 loss. All in all, Bellmore is extremely proud of what has transpired considering their team was put together only 10 days prior.
Saturday, Bellmore 1-1 played Seaford 0-1 in the elimination bracket. The whole team stepped up with outstanding plays in the field along with masterful pitching. Bellmore takes home the victory 3-2 now 2-1 in the tournament.
