Bellmore Blue Fire Softball Goes Undefeated to Win Tourney
The 10U softball team defeated Hicksville en route to the tournament championship.
The Bellmore Blue Fire 10-U Softball team topped Hicksville on Wednesday afternoon at the Winthrop Avenue School in Bellmore by a 15-4 score.
The big win handed the Blue Fire the 2011 Baldwin Tournament championship after going a perfect 9-0 over the last few weeks, topping some tough competition in Nassau County along the way.
Amanda Maffucci started the game at pitcher for Bellmore, getting through the first two innings with her team in the lead. Despite giving up three runs to Hicksville in the top of the first inning, Bellmore took the lead right back in the bottom half and did not let it up the rest of the way.
