Bellmore BlueFire Girls U10, U12 Sizzle at Tourney

The Bellmore Little League girls U10 and U12 fast-pitch softball teams played for the championship game in the coveted East Meadow Summer Sizzle recently. The tournament located at the East Meadow Complex featured teams from all over the Long Island area.

The Bellmore BlueFire U10 team shocked their division and made it to the championship game against Plainedge. First, they defeated Farmingdale and then a very powerful hitting Massapequa team. While they came in second place, the team exceeded everyone's expectations for the season and propelled their confidence to another level. The U10 team is comprised of girls from Bellmore Little League interested in playing summer travel softball. The team consists of Kaitlin Maniscalco, Jeannette Kropp, Natalie Murray, Lillianne Gering, Jackie Clifford, Jillian Goldhirsch, Taylor Niola, Azaria Vargas, Peyton Fishman, Kaitlyn Judd, Amanda Maffucci, Elizabeth Kutil, Samantha Bendig, Ruth Bergman and Danielle Polirer

The Bellmore BlueFire U12 team also made it to the championship game in the East Meadow Summer Sizzle tournament. This is the same team that captured the Memorial Day Tournament at Newbridge Park, winning all six games and defeating an independent travel team from Westchester in the final game. The U12 team had no easy task getting to the championship game. First, they defeated Sea Cliff and then Bethpage Gold elite 12U team. The Bethpage Gold game was won in the last inning with impeccable base running and timely hitting. The pitching performance for Bellmore BlueFire was amazing. While they were defeated by a great East Meadow U12 team, the Bellmore BlueFire U12 team did exceptionally well throughout the summer. They won the two prior tournaments during the summer and played against some of the best 12U teams on Long Island.
