Bellmore Fire Department Responds to Baldwin Pizzeria Fire

The Bellmore Fire Department was on the scene of a fire in Baldwin last night that ripped through a pizzeria. 

According to police, the Merrick Fire Department, Baldwin Fire Department, Freeport Fire Department, Bellmore Fire Department, Point Lookout Fire Department and Lakeside Fire Department all responded to the fire at the Pizza Garden at 95 Merrick Rd. around 10:40 p.m.

Twenty one people were displaced and relocated by the Nassau Red Cross. Seven firefighters suffered heat exhaustion and were treated at the scene. 

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and the investigation is continuing, police said.
