Bellmore Man Punched Police Officer: NCPD

The man threw bottles at cars and started to disrobe before his attack, police said.

BELLMORE, NY — A Bellmore man was arrested after attacking a police officer late Wednesday afternoon, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

According to Seventh Squad detectives, police officers arrived at Lakeview Road in response to calls about a male who punched and threw bottles at cars at about 5:45 p.m. Oct. 20.

When the officers confronted the man, he turned belligerent and started to undress in the roadway, police said. He charged and punched an officer in the face, after which the officers were able to subdue and detain him without additional incidents, police said.

Miguel Alfaro Flores, 30, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. Flores is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.

The officer who was punched experienced pain and swelling in his cheek. He was treated at a local hospital for his injuries and released, police said.
