Bellmore Man Assaults Police Officer When He Responds: Police
Anthony Martone, who was having a medical episode at home, faces charges of assault, harassment and resisting arrest, Nassau police said.

BELLMORE, NY — A Bellmore man, who was having a medical emergency at his home, got verbally and physically combative with police.
Anthony Martone, 59, who was experiencing chest pains and trouble breathing early Sunday, pushed an officer down the stairs of the Alder Road home, Nassau police said.
Martone also is accused of splitting in the face of the Nassau County Police Media and causing two other officers to have hand and wirst pain before being arrested, detectives said.

The officers and medic were transported to an area hospital for treatment. Martone is being charged with second-degree assault, second-degree harassment and resisting arrest. He will be arraigned when it is medically pratical, police said.
