Bellmore-Merrick Math Whiz
Jasper Seabold scored in the top 5 percent on a nationwide math exam.
Jasper Seabold, an eighth-grader at Merrick Avenue Middle School in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District, recently scored in the top 5 percent of the nation on the American Math Competition.
“Jasper utilized his problem-solving skills and concepts developed in Anna Aprilakis’ math class to perform at such an advanced level on this exam,” said Mathematics Chairperson David Gunder. More than 130,000 students particpated in the nationwide exam.
Seabold is a member of the school’s Math Club, Builders Club, PAWS Club and Science Olympiads. He was also a past member of the All-County Jazz Band.
