Bellmore-Merrick Senior Wins National Young Astronomers Award
His research into exoplanets earned him the top prize.

Perri Zilberman, an Advanced Science Research senior at John F. Kennedy High School, has been named the first-place winner of the National Young Astronomers Award for his research on the exoplanets called “Hot Jupiters.”
“Hot Jupiters” are large, gaseous planets that orbit very close to their stars.
As a first-place winner, Zilberman is invited to an awards ceremony to be held at the 2017 North East Astronomer’s Forum in addition to receiving a telescope valued at $1,500.
