The students put together dozens of baskets to help feed families this Thanksgiving.

Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s Student Ambassadors gathered together on Nov. 19 at Brookside to pack 75 Thanksgiving baskets for local families in need.
Led by adviser Josephine Parlagreco, students in the Wellington C. Mepham High School Leo Club made pies while social studies teacher Jackie Geller and students decorated place mats. Merrick Avenue Middle School’s family and consumer sciences teacher Carly Gould and students made corn bread. Sanford H. Calhoun High School special education teacher Lisa Loonie and students packaged bags.
“I cannot say enough about how hard the kids were working,” said Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mara Bollettieri.
