Bellmore Resident Named Skyline Conference Player of the Week

SUNY College at Old Westbury senior third baseman Brian Walsh of Bellmore has been named the Skyline Conference Baseball Co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Farmingdale State's Daniel Paccione, announced Monday evening by league officials.  

Walsh earned his second career Player of the Week honor after batting .765 (13-17) with nine runs scored, five RBI, three doubles, a triple and a home run to lead Old Westbury to four wins last week.  

Walsh produced his third career four-hit game on April 6, finishing 4-for-5 with two RBI in Old Westbury's 8-7 game one victory over St. Joseph's-L.I. Walsh added a 6-for-7 doubleheader against Yeshiva on April 5, tallying six runs scored, one home run, three RBI, two doubles and four stolen bases.  

Walsh recorded four multi-hit games last week to raise his season total to 11. On the season, the Bellmore native is hitting .378 with a team-leading 20 RBI, 20 runs scored and eight doubles to go along with 10 stolen bases.
