Bellmore School Budget Vote, Trustee Election Tuesday
Here's what you need to know before heading to the polls.

Bellmore residents will head to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots for a proposed school budget and to elect school board trustees.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Shore Road School for those in the Bellmore School District and at Norman J. Levy Lakeside School for those in the Merrick School District. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Newbridge Road School for those in the North Bellmore School District and from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Harold D. Fayette School for those in the North Merrick School District.
The Bellmore-Merrick Board of Education is proposing a budget of $147,763,782 for 2016-17. That represents a 3.47 percent spending increase over the current year with a 1.51 percent hike in the school tax levy.

The Bellmore Board of Education is proposing a budget of $33,860,373 for 2016-17, which represents a 0.83 spending increase while the North Bellmore Board of education is proposing a budget of $53,742,934 for the school year representing a 0.82 percent increase.

Voters will also elect school board trustees on Tuesday.

Incumbents Janet Goller and Maryanne Kelly will both be running unopposed for the two open seats on the Bellmore school board. The terms are for three years.
In North Bellmore, incumbents JoAnn DeLauter and Peter Mayo will also be running unopposed for the two open seats. The terms are also for three years.
