Bellmore Woman Struck by Car While Walking on Newbridge Road

BREAKING: She was taken to a hospital for treatment; police did not charge the driver.

A Bellmore woman was taken to the hospital after she was struck by a car while walking on Newbridge Road Friday morning.

According to the state police, on Friday at approximately 8:52 a.m., Donna Polimeni 58, of Bellmore, was walking south on Newbridge Road in a crosswalk when she was struck by a 2014 Ford Edge exiting the Southern State Parkway. The driver of the car, Margaret Greco, 49, of Massapequa Park, was not charged.

Polimeni was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where she was treated for a head injury. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening. Any witnesses are asked to call the state police at 631-756-3300.
