Bites Nearby: Bayou Restaurant

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Bellmore Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. This week we head to a Bellmore favorite on Jerusalem Avenue.

Bayou Restaurant: It's not easy to find Cajun and Creole dishes done right on Long Island. Luckily, Bellmore has a true gem right in its backyard. The menu is packed full of Southern cuisine at its finest. Cajun classics such as jambalaya, gumbo, crawfish and catfish can be found throughout the menu, along with a few other southern specialties like grits, Etouffee Gravy and sweet potato fries.
