Calhoun High School To Host Annual St. Baldrick's Shave
You can have a great time, get a free haircut and raise money to fight juvenile cancer, all at the same time.

Sanford H. Calhoun High School in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District will host its annual Chop Your Lock's for Charity event to benefit the St. Baldrick's Foundation on March 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gym.
Last year, the Calhoun shave raised nearly $35,000.
“Over the past 10 years, the Calhoun High School community has been an incredible supporter of this wonderful event,” said teacher and event co-organizer Melissa Rohr. “School community members can get involved by shaving their heads, cutting their locks or donating to the cause.”

“In addition, Calhoun faculty and staff have been tremendous in garnering support for the event by promoting it among their students, teams and clubs, as well as coming out the night of the event in full support,” said teacher and co-organizer Joseph Bianca.
The money raised goes directly to the St. Baldrick's foundation, which aims to fund research which helps find cures and treatment for childhood cancers.
