Central High School District Welcomes New Administrators
Peter Hutchison and Eric Arlin were introduced at the September Board of Education meeting.

The Bellmore Merrick Central High School District recently welcomed two new members to the district, both of whom were introduced by Superintendent Henry Kiernan at the September Board of Education meeting.
First was Peter Hutchison, the new Assistant Principal at John F. Kennedy High School, who started his tenure on Sept. 4; the very first day of the school year.
“Peter began his career as a special education teacher in the Mineola Middle School,” Kiernan said. “He then obtained the position of multimedia coordinator and staff development specialist. From there, Peter went to Amityville High School, where he was an assistant principal, and in 2010, he was named New York State assistant principal of the year.”

Another recent addition to the district this school year is Eric Arlin, the new Director of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services.
“Eric comes to us from the Merrick school district, where he held the same position,” Kiernan said. “Prior to his position as a director, he was an assistant principal and a principal at Birch School in Merrick. Before that, he began his career as a special education teacher in Connecticut.”
