Coastal Flood Watch Issued For Southern Nassau

There's the potential for numerous road closures and isolated property damage.

The National Weather Weather Service has issued a coastal flood watch for southern Nassau County. The watch will be in effect from 7 p.m. to midnight Thursday.

High tides of up to 2 feet above normal will likely cause widespread minor to potentially moderate coastal flooding, the NWS says.

There's the potential for numerous road closures and isolated property damage as well.

Thursday- Rain and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 61. East wind 13 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Thursday Night- Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 53. East wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday- Showers likely, mainly before 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Friday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
