Community Comes Together For Bellmore Girl Battling Cancer

A GoFundMe raised thousands of dollars in just one day and a welcome home parade is scheduled for Saturday in Bellmore.

BELLMORE, NY — A community is rallying to support the family of a Bellmore girl, who was recently diagnosed with pediatric cancer.

Alina Roseboom, is the seven-year-old daughter of drummer Vinny Roseboom, known for the bands Helen of Troy and Gospel.

A GoFundMe page was started by a friend to help them alleviate financial concerns. It has raised more than $10,000 in just 24 hours, a spokesperson for GoFundMe said.

She was diagnosed with Wilms Disease and will undergo chemotherapy and radiation, according to GoFundMe.

As Alina is scheduled for discharge from the hospital on Saturday, the neighborhood is planning to car parade to welcome her home. Cars will begin lining up at Marlboro Place at 10:50 a.m. with a procession to her house at 11.
