Contractor Burglarizes North Bellmore Home: Police

The man and his wife were also arrested in connection to two other burglaries, police say.

SEAFORD, NY - A Seaford couple was arrested on Thursday and charged in connection to several home burglaries since July, according to Nassau County Police.

Nicholas Anastasio, 35, a self-employed contractor under the business name “Platinum Touch Contracting,” stole items from homes while performing residential home improvement including: a computer from a Bristol Drive home in North Bellmore on July 29, a shotgun from an Ann Lane home in Levittown on Feb. 12, and assorted jewelry from a Surrey Lane in Levittown on Feb. 16, according to police.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that 34-year-old Jacqueline Anastasio, was found to have sold some of the proceeds of the burglaries as well as being in possession of two assault rifles, police said.

Nicholas is charged with three counts of second degree burglary while Jacqueline is charged with two counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said.

Both will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on Friday.
