Early Morning Nassau House Fire Injures Firefighter, Resident

A firefighter and a resident were injured in an early morning house fire in Bellmore on Monday.
The fire broke out just after 1 a.m. at a home on Sunrise Avenue, off Merrick Road. Firefighters responded and had the fire put out within an hour, but the home was completely destroyed.
A resident of the home suffered a burn to their arm, and one firefighter cut his hand. Both were taken to a hospital for treatment.
